I totally wanted to love these.
The ColourPop Lippie Stix ($5.00) look highly pigmented and they are super affordable. Yasmin is described as a full coverage, electric coral matte lip. On me, it was matte, but the color didn’t do anything for me.
As far as application, it applied like a crayon. Yes, a wax crayon is what it reminded me of. I had to do about 10 or 11 strokes on each lip to get the pigment displayed on the website, which wasn’t that annoying because you actually get a lot of product. In the picture below, the tube isn’t even halfway exposed.

The annoying part was the crayon-like waxy consistency on my lips. It just didn’t set well. After the 10-12 strokes, I found that it was just way too much product and made me look like a clown. I just couldn’t find a sweet spot. I highly recommend tissue blotting after application.
Finally, I settled on using these as a lip tint, lightly applied for barely-there color. I think that is about the only use I will be able to get out of these. I also got this lippie stix in another color, Fetch. I had the same experience and will also be using it as a lip tint, instead of a full-on lipstick. I also experienced a lot of feathering… no bueno. It wasn’t drying or moisturizing, and I did use lip balm before application.
As a full-on lipstick, Yasmin lasted about 3 hours. It does not stay on through eating and drinking and had too much slip for my liking.

I’m not sure I will give lippie stix another chance. I am curious about their lip pencils and if they have the same appearance. I had a look at the ingredients and I think what makes the lippie stix leave a waxy residue on my lips, is the fact that one of the ingredients is synthetic wax. I don’t see that ingredient in the lip liner so I may see how those work out for me. I also purchased a couple of their eye shadows. Hopefully those work out better for me.
