Currently Coveting, Vol. 1

It’s about that time of year where all the good stuff comes out! I’ve started seeing all these beauty products and makeup that I really want or look like they’d be great for spring and the rapidly approaching summer. Here are some items I am totally lusting after:

Let’s start off with mascara. I usually don’t buy mascara often because I am always getting samples of it from Sephora. My favorite mascara of all time is Lancome’s Hypnose Drama in Excessive Black, but I find myself a bit curious about Guerlain’s Cils D’enfer Maxi Lash So Volume ($30.00). I’ve only actually seen one good review on this mascara, so I will likely pull the trigger and test it out for myself since shipping is free at Saks and I don’t have one that close to me.

A charming trump card, an irresistible weapon of seduction, Cils D’enfer Maxi Lash So Volume intensifies and enhances the eyes. Sophisticated variation of the mascara phenomenon, it delivers incredible instant volume, of a deep black. From the first sweep of the brush, the gentle, creamy and elastic formula creates significantly thicker lashes. Infused with a conditioning action to protect the lashes, it is enriched with adhesive oils to prevent running or smudging and ultra-glossy oils for an intense black. Its fine elastomer brush weaves in to easily catch and precisely coat lashes one by one – even the shortest and those at the very corners of the eye – to offer sensational curve. Lashes are coated and sculpted to perfection, with no risk of excess. Stunning captivating volume, magnetic black. 0.6 oz. Made in France.

Next up are the Cream & Powder Eye Colors from Tom Ford’s new summer 2015 collection ($60). Yesterday morning, it appeared in front of me as I was “browsing” and I started googling to find out more about it. Literally, less than ten minutes later, Christine from Temptalia posts swatches of one of the colors I wasn’t even considering, Golden Peach, and it’s gorgeous. I also have my eyes on Midnight Sea. The collection has yet to be released to the general public, so I have a little bit of time to see swatches and decide if I really want Midnight Sea.

This two-tiered eye color pairs two coveted formulas in one to create a lustrous and sexy summertime eye. The ultra-pigmented, metallic cream shadow glides onto lids with a rich, molten glow and the sparkling celestial powder intensifies the look with alluring shimmer.

It’s not like I need another lip  product, but… I actually have no excuse, actually lol. I’d really like to try this jumbo lip pencil from Lipstick Queen, Cupid’s Bow. I am a fan of jumbo lip pencils and this one claims long-lasting, pigmented, moisture-filled, beautiful lips!

When cupid strikes he strikes with precision!

Ever since Clara Bow hit the silent screen with her perfectly outlined and devastatingly seductive lips, the world has been mesmerized by the artful precision of a perfectly applied cupid’s bow. Inspired by this comes Cupid’s Bow, a jumbo pencil packed with pigment that works like a lipstick and lip liner in one.

Loaded with hydrating ingredients to keep your pout in perfect condition, these pencils give lips a velvety drama in eight shades that can be drawn on with one simple stroke. Lips are instantly saturated with rich, plush pigments and a dramatic yet moisture-rich satin matte finish. Naughty, nice and playful, with arrow-like precision…just like Cupid himself.

Last but not least, nail polish. I have these long episodes where I don’t buy any polish at all, and then short stints of “all I want to buy is nail polish cuz it’s hot outside and I can’t wait to wear sandals regularly!” The first one is from Yves Saint Laurent’s summer collection called Jaune Babouche ($27.00). It’s in my shopping cart for checkout right now :). Yellow is my favorite color but I have a hard time finding a yellow nail polish that doesn’t wash me out. I haven’t seen any swatches anywhere so I am really taking a chance here.

Saharienne at the fingertips, the hot yellow of babouche yellow and the burnt orange heat of the sun convey a sense of heat and spice providing a modern and surprising accent to the look.

The other one is the Nails Inc Chiltern Street Gel Effect Polish and it’s your basic powder pink color… but gel. Well, gel without the gel process.

I’d say this is a pretty hefty list to get started on!
