Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Margaritas and chips n queso await me later but for now (and on theme!) I wanted to show you guys the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Chihuahua ($21.00). It was one of the items I left Sephora with the other day. As you all probably know, the Too Faced Melted lipsticks boast comfortable, intense lips lasting for a hours.

Get the staying power of a stain, the intense color of a liquid lipstick and the high shine of a gloss in one long-wear formula. Using exclusive technology to keep cauldrons of molten lipsticks liquid and creamy, Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, super rich, saturated color that lasts for hours.

I have been curious about these for a long while but never got around to buying any until recently.

The best thing about this lipstick is that it is so comfortable and moisturizing. The pigmentation is pretty intense, but the one thing that was a deal breaker for me was the smell. Yes… it smells like clay or something. It doesn’t necessarily smell bad, it’s just strong and it doesn’t go away! I can’t say how long it lasts because I could not keep this on my lips for more than two hours. I am usually not sensitive at all to smells but this was just too much for me. Application was a little bit streaky but as soon as the color set, it was all good. It removed very easily with a dry cotton pad. The product does transfer on to cups and glasses and needs to be re-applied after eating.

I wonder if I just got a color that had a scent to it. Does anyone else have this experience with the Melted lipsticks?
