Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Duo Bronze/Pepper

Bonsoir from Paris!

Today I wanted to bring you all a review on the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Duo in Bronze / Pepper ($14.00). I have a few lipstick duos from Bite Beauty and this one performed similar to those. The only color that really appealed to me out of the other three was this one. A while back, these increased in price from $12.00 to $14.00, which I wouldn’t have a problem with because I am aware that the Amuse Bouche formula is superior to their old one in that Amuse Bouche is more moisturizing, but this duo broke on me the first and second time I used it. I had the same problem with the old formula, too. I just don’t like that they raised the price here when I doubt I will be able to get as much use out of this duo if they were more sturdy. Especially since for a few more dollars, you can get a full-sized, mid-range lipstick (such as Urban Decay) that’s not going to break on you.

Pepper is a pinky-nude on me and Bronze pulls more gold on my lips. I really like the idea of this foiled holiday duo, as it provides some extra Shazam. The only other issue I had with this duo is that the brand wants you to apply the foil end on top of the colored end, but when I did that, it did not show up for me. Strangely, applied backwards, Bronze first then Pepper applied lightly, it showed up nicely.

I do like the end result. I have even worn Bronze on it’s own and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would; it’s surprisingly wearable.

I really love the Amuse Bouche formula. Because I have had such an issue applying these without them breaking, I think this will be the last one of these I purchase. I find that I reach for my full-size in Molasses a lot more than I have ever reached for any of these duos.
