The Last Moisturizer on Earth: Hada Labo Goku-jyun Alpha Milk Review

At this point in life, if I had the choice of the last moisturizer on Earth, it would be Hada Labo Goku-jyun Alpha Milk.

My skin type

I have oily skin. I never used to be a huge fan of moisturizers but I am coming around. I have acne scars that are slowly fading, with large pores on my cheeks.

What it’s supposed to do

It’s supposed to provide “deep, nourishing hydration, plus firming and smoothing conditioners for your face and neck.”

“HADA LABO Goku-jyun Alpha skin care products with Super Hyaluronic Acid provide deep moisturization, while Collagen and vitamin A and an exclusive peptide help smooth fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin’s elasticity, giving skin a firmer look.” (hadalabousa.com)

Honestly, the ingredients aren’t anything special-looking, but I really love this moisturizer anyway.

Ingredients

Water, Glycerin, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-12 Olefin), Dipropylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Behenyl Alcohol, Beta-Carotene, Caprylic/Capric/Myristic/Stearic Triglyceride, Carbomer, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Methylparaben, PEG-20 Sorbitan Isostearate, Phytosteryl/Behenyl/Octyldodecyl Lauroyl Glutamate, Propylparaben, Retinyl Palmitate, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Thioctic Acid, Tocopherol, Triethanolamine, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil

How I use it

The Alpha Milk is nearly the last item I use in my routine. Speaking of my routine, you can see exactly where I use it by reading about my battle against my scarring.

How long I used it

I purchased this when I went to NYC last year in November and have been using it ever since. All I need is a quarter-sized amount for my entire face and neck; and yes, a quarter-sized amount is kind of a lot, but it’s necessary. After everyday use, twice per day, the bottle is a little bit less than half full. I think I have another three months left in the bottle. Best $16 ever spent!

Results

The Alpha Milk is very thin, which is surprising because it’s incredibly moisturizing. I was also going to pick up the Alpha Lotion, but decided to just test out the Alpha Milk instead to see how I liked it, since it was thinner than the Alpha Lotion. I haven’t had any breakouts from it either. I also love that it doesn’t smell like anything and you can put it anywhere in your routine without it getting all mad and pilling up. I haven’t fallen asleep in my makeup since 2017 started but I have stumbled to the sink to wash off my makeup. If there’s one product I slather on, just to say I did something, it’s the Hada Labo Alpha Milk.
