Niod Re:Pigment Multi-Pathway Brightening System Review with Before and After Photos!

The biggest issue I have with my skin is hyperpigmentation, mainly acne scars. When I got an email from Deciem about Niod’s new Re:Pigment serum, I bought it right away.

9/5/2017: I spent all day lounging on the balcony, drinking wine. This explains the difference in my overall skin tone on this day. I used the Re:Pigment as a spot treatment and not all over my face. My tan faded naturally, and likely with the help of the lactic acid I use every day, NOT from the Re:Pigment serum.

The photos were taken 9/5, before I received the serum, 9/20, a couple weeks after I started using it (9/9), and 10/3, after I had run out (9/26). Follow the numbers to see the changes in my skin. I saw most progress between 9/9 and 9/20.

The right side of my face is more damaged but I still had some fading. The skin in the circle is mostly a burn, and I am starting to think that will never go away 😭

Seems like when I had the chocolatey tan, my hyperpigmentation was less visible. I noticed that in the photos as well as with the naked eye. Once my tan started fading, the PIH was a lot more visible.

My skin type

Oily and scarred.

What it’s supposed to do

From the brandThis formula visibly counteracts both uneven pigmentation, such as spots, as well as overall pigmentation issues through several pathways.

Read here about the brightening ingredients.

Ingredients

Lentinus edodes mycelium extract, Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Propanediol, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Butylene Glycol, Acetyl glycyl beta-alanine, Myristoyl Nonapeptide-3, Tetrapeptide-30, Oligopeptide-68, Diglucosyl Gallic Acid, Evodia Rutaecarpa Fruit Extract, Algae Extract, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Oleate, Disodium EDTA, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Pentylene Glycol, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Ethoxydiglycol, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl glycol.

How I use it

As a spot treatment with a cotton ball or cotton pad twice a day. On droplet full satisfies me in that I am using enough, but it caused me to run out so quickly. Half a droplet full seemed adequate, but I didn’t start doing this until I was nearly out of it. A cotton ball is more precise in application but soaks up more of the liquid than a cotton pad. It’s got a pretty watery consistency so choose wisely.

How long I used it

Received 9/8; started using 9/9. The 15ml lasted roughly three weeks (18 days)

What I like about it

It appears to work in a short amount of time! I started using it 9/9 an finished the bottle 9/26. That’s 17 days. To the naked eye, I couldn’t tell if it was working, which is why taking photos was key! For reference, the only other thing I used with this serum, that didn’t require washing off was my DIY Ultimate Beauty Oil. I’ve substituted the squalane for The Ordinary’s Ferulic/Resveratrol solution.

What could be better

It’s $39.00 for 15 ml or half a fluid ounce. It works but I still think it’s expensive, just based on how quickly I ran out of it. Also, the first time I used it, it buuurrrnnned. Each time after that, it was a lot less irritable to my face.

Joy Factor

It appears to be somewhat of a necessary evil. It wouldn’t make any sense not to repurchase this.

Where to indulge
