Another Hit: Papa Recipe 2 Step Cleaning Solution Mask

I am a fan of two-step masks. I am also a fan of Papa Recipe. So naturally when I saw the Papa Recipe 2 Step Cleaning Solution Mask, I had to give it a try. The mask includes a huge Q-Tip, the All Kill Peeling Bong, soaked in its goodness, and the sheet mask to use after.

My skin type

Oily. I experience hormonal acne monthly, two or three zits on my cheek(s) and sometimes my chin.

What it’s supposed to do

What pulled me in with this mask was the acid marketing; the All Kill Peeling Bong is the exfoliant, which includes the AHA (lactic acid) and BHA (salicylic acid), and the sheet mask is for moisture.

Ingredients

Step 1: All Kill Peeling Bong

Water, Alcohol, Lactic Acid, Tromethamine, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Fruit Extract, Lemon Extract, Apple, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Trehalose, Salicylic Acid, Citric Acid, Glycolic Acid, Sodium Citrate, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Allantoin, Erythritol, Glycereth-26, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1, 2-Hexanediol

Step 2: All Care Sheet Mask

Water, Methylpropanediol, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Sea Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Trehalose, Adenosine, Tromethamine, Allantoin, Panthenol, Provitamin B5, Caprylyl Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Disodium EDTA, Chlorphenesin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1, 2-Hexanediol

How I use it

After cleansing, I swabbed my face with the All Kill Peeling Bong, focusing mostly on my cheeks. I followed directly with the mask.

How long I used it

The peeling bong took about a minute to apply all over my face and I left the sheet mask on for 40 minutes with the help of my Daiso Silicone Mask.

What I like about it

I loved the thickness of the mask and how moisturized my face was after using it. The peeling swab did not expose any hidden zits, but did provide a bit of exfoliation before moisture. Lactic Acid is third on the list, but I’m not sure if that means much as I’m not 100% sure whether the Korean beauty brands have to put their ingredients in order by concentration. You won’t get a ton of exfoliation from a single mask pack, but consistent use might prove noticeable results. Also, my skin loves glycolic and lactic acid together, so this increased the joy for me there as well.

What could be better

I bought this mask for $4 from what used to be Memebox. I’ve only been able to find it at Amazon by the box for $20. You get five so the price is on par with the single mask. Although it being hard to find isn’t the mask’s fault itself, it’s kid of annoying when you find something good and then you can’t find it again, especially if you only want to try one. It’s got acids in it and having to buy a box could be a deterrent if you just wanted to try out one. That said, these are great and the box is worth it. Other than that, this mask could have used some more forehead room for me.
