Bobbi Brown Skin Long Wear Weightless Foundation is Everything!

Have you spent your life searching for a coverage foundation that controls your oily skin, doesn’t need to be set with any powder, and never needs blotting? Well, you’ve come to the right place because I have found it! The Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation first came into my life as a deluxe-sample from Nordstrom about six months ago. After trying a shade that wasn’t a total match (Cool Almond), but being very impressed with the formula, I splurged on the full-sized product. It was a no-brainer! I can honestly say as far as formula, I haven’t been able to find anything better! I use shade 8.25, Cool Walnut. Get ready for an HG review!

In the two photos that follow, I’m not wearing a stitch of makeup.

Here I have applied the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Foundation and nothing else but eyebrows.

And here’s the foundation after applying light makeup look.

Oily and imperfect. I have fading dark acne scars and tiny icepick scars on my cheeks.

What it’s supposed to do

From the brand: Created through a high speed cold fusion process, this ultra-silky emulsion features a perfectly balanced blend of skin-loving ingredients, oil controlling actives and skin-true pigments. Incredibly smooth and blendable, it glides on with a second-skin feel and multidimensional matte finish. Pigments are precisely balanced through artistry expertise to skin’s top tones and undertones to deliver the most natural-looking shade range for all skin tones.

How I use it

This is more of a medium-coverage foundation that can be built to full coverage. I have noticed that I prefer to wear it at medium coverage. At the moment, all of my problem spots are on my cheeks, and what the foundation doesn’t cover, my blush usually does. I use a dense foundation brush for maximum blending. I have tried using a stippling brush and a beauty sponge, but I prefer using a denser brush. I use two pumps for my whole face, applying a thin layer initially, and then going back over with the remaining leftover on my cheeks, where I have some dark acne scars.

What I like about it

The formula is phenomenal!  I can go all day without having to powder or blot, which is crazy because by midday, my skin gets oily. It only makes this foundation better in my opinion! Here’s a photo after I had been in the sun (and wine tasting) for several hours.

I also fancy the packaging; the foundation comes in a hefty glass bottle with a pump, and although you get the traditional 1 oz of product, it seems like you’re getting a lot more, especially since a little bit goes a long way for me. I don’t use this all over unless I have to, just on my cheeks and chin. Even better, it doesn’t oxidize, change colors, or need any time to set to its intended finish. It doesn’t need powder or blotting as I mentioned before, and I just love it.

What could be better

I’m so impressed with this foundation! I will say that the name implies that the foundation is weightless, but I wouldn’t go that far. It’s light on the skin but I still feel like I’m wearing makeup. I also don’t find it to be full-coverage (see Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet+ for reference), but it can easily be built to full-coverage without it feeling heavy.
