Karuna Renewal+ Eye Mask

I received this Karuna Renewal+ Eye Mask as a sample from a Sephora purchase. The mask is supposed to depuff the eye area, so obviously I was happy to see this as a sample.

This refreshing, multifunctional eye treatment is made out of 100 percent natural wood-pulp fiber, allowing pores to fully absorb essential nutrients and nourishing ingredients for ultimate hydration. It moisturizes, reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, and treats fine lines while reducing redness and irritation around the eyes. The oil-free formula contains a powerful blend of hyaluronic acid and peptides to renew, aloe vera and chamomile to hydrate, and Chinese licorice and vitamin B to detoxify.

Applying the mask is pretty easy; just crack it open and place each sheet under the eye. The mask will naturally adjust and adapt to your skin. This may sound crazy, but it actually felt like there was some suction going on. I felt a lot of pressure when I had these under my eyes– it was pretty bizarre. I left it on for about 12-15 minutes. I normally leave sheet masks on for 20-30 minutes but I just couldn’t take the pressure. It started to give me a headache. I’m not sure why, maybe I had sinus issues that morning, spring is upon us.

In the end, the mask actually works. I did see a noticeable difference directly after I removed the mask. The area under my eye was supple, hydrated, and bright.

My only issue with these masks are the price. I received these as a sample, but for $36 for a 4-pack, I probably never would have tried these otherwise. I’ll have to try other eye masks before I commit to buying these to make sure there isn’t anything just as good out there for a more reasonable price.
