Sunday, March 20, 2016I don't own many contour palettes and after trying this one, it looks like I won't need to.

Make Up For Ever has yet to make a product I didn't care for (that I have actually tried), so when I saw they were coming out with a contour palette, I naturally jumped at the chance to try it. The Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Palette: 4-in-1 Face Contouring Palette ($45.00) comes in four shades: Light, Medium, Tan, and Dark. I chose Dark :)
Pro Sculpting Palette features everything you need to contour and transform your face. You can easily lighten, contour, shimmer and color, for a perfectly sculpted look. These long-lasting, ultra-blendable shades create a flawless, even finish and effortless contour. Included are Pro step-by-step guidelines so you can sculpt like an expert.

Now I apply my makeup in my bathroom under bright, artificial light. The results were not as apparent as they are in natural light, and especially in sunlight! I went to go snap some photos and my lawd! It. Is. BEAUTIFUL. Now I'm not one to go walking around with a patch of highlight all over my cheeks, especially when I have to go to work, but this cream-based palette makes it so beautiful and it blends into the skin so much that I hadn't even noticed how blended it was until I went into the natural light. Do yourself a favor and use this palette in natural light. The colors lasted on me for 7 hours, when I subconsciously started touching my face :(
I ended up applying the creams with the foundation brush from my Sephora Skinny Brush Wrap, and blending with a makeup sponge (Beauty Blender knock-off I found at Marshall's). Here is the final look after applying powder:

I also feel like there is a learning curve with these cream colors. I think the trick is to find a brush that will pick up the colors with no problem, and also apply with no problem. I found myself intermittently using the makeup sponge for blending because I couldn't get the brush to give me the desired result. It would be nice if Make Up For Ever could include a brush or tell us which brush is best for this. It is a PRO product, so perhaps they assume we already know, buuuuuutttt I fussed over which brush to use in the beginning before I settled on the one I chose. Also don't forget to use the palette in natural light!

I love the colors. I don't do much contouring myself, but I'm going to give it a try.
