Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask

Skin Profile: Oily, acne scarring, large pores.

Now if you look at the second photo, this clay mask looks like heaven. And guess what? It might just be.

Clay masks can seem like they all went to the same school; as in they all feel the same and do the same thing. Well this one is different, I’m happy to say!

The Valentia Skin Detoxifying Clay Mask ($25.00) is in a league of its own. Generally, I use clay masks as a method to help me control oil, and I don’t expect any major skin-changing results. After I removed this form my face, my skin was so soft! That was a pleasant surprise!

One of the things I like about the mask is the thin layer it naturally applies. Most clay masks I have used have been quite thick, and this was a nice departure from that. Also because the thicker masks tend to get stuck under my nails.

My favorite thing about this mask is the texture of it; it isn’t just clay, but has “natural fibers” in it — oat-like particles that contribute to exfoliation when removing.

I do love plant-based and exotic sounding ingredients!

The mask does have a scent to it. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s hard to explain. It’s not overwhelming, though.

The mask took 15 minutes to dry and I wiped it off with a terry cloth hand towel. There was a tightening sensation and some mild tingling around my nose area. My skin felt really soft and fresh after. I liked this product a lot and I’m looking forward to using this weekly.

I have become a huge fan of detoxifying masks in this poor air quality place called Seoul. Will definitely have to check this one out, too.

This one has made my skin feel the softest, unlike any other mask I have ever used. Seems great for all skin types!
