Milk Makeup Lip Color C.R.E.A.M. | O.G. Red

I received two of Milk Makeup’s Lip Color Lipsticks as a sample with a $25 purchase from Sephora in the colors C.R.E.A.M. (nude mauve) and O.G. Red (pretty much a true red).

This bold Lip Color bathes lips in hydration for comfortable all day wear. Shea butter, coconut oils, and grapefruit peel oils soften lips and boost moisture. Meanwhile, Milk Melt Technology matches body temperature for instant glide and a second skin feel. A pigment level of 30 percent ensures one-swipe coverage and super intense color payoff with no base required. The tube’s long, lean shape and custom tip allow for easy application for a perfect bold, matte lip look that lasts from desk to dawn.

I wasn’t expecting much from these lipsticks, mainly because they looked really gimmicky from the Sephora website, and secondly because when I opened the box, I saw how tiny these samples were; I mean they are the tiniest lipstick samples I have ever received. For that reason, I thought that I might break the fragile little things and that the application would be difficult; for I have mighty lips! πŸ™‚

These certainly exceeded my expectations. As I was applying them, I noticed they were both matte and I thought they might be drying. I even mentally prepared myself for the drying nature I suspected these might have, but nope! To my surprise, not drying for me at all actually (also not moisturizing, and just so you know, I always apply EOS lip balm before I use any lips product). That second skin effect they mention, it’s the real deal. I didn’t feel like I was wearing lipstick which is impressive. I reckon all the oils and butters they created these with actually help out with that. C.R.E.A.M. is a perfect nude color for me, but the O.G. Red I really took a liking to. These are very pigmented and last on me around 5-6 hours before noticeably fading.

For C.R.E.A.M., I lined my lips with ColourPop Frida (seen here). I didn’t use a liner with O.G. Red but I think next time I will, especially with O.G. Red. I just think it will clean it up a bit. A good liner for O.G. Red would be ColourPop Bossy (seen here). I’ve got my eye on New Whip and Freshhh next!
