Review: Sephora Rose Moisturizing Cream

I love the Sephora Collection and I love roses so when I saw the $8.00 Sephora Rose Moisturizing Cream, I was skeptical, but excited to try it.

My skin type

Oily; probably combination during the winter.

What it’s supposed to do

Well, the main purpose of the moisturizer is to relieve the face of dryness or moisturize. Sephora uses phrases like “quenches the skin’s thirst” and “brightens” but I’d say this is your basic, light moisturizer that smells like roses 🌹

Ingredients

Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Lecithin, Glycerin, Mica, Tocopheryl Acetate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Parfum (Fragrance), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Rosa Gallica Flower Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sorbic Acid, CI 14700 (Red 4), Biotin, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil.

How I use it

I use this moisturizer in the morning and at night, usually last in my regimen. It’s a pretty light moisturizer so I would recommend something heavier for folks with normal-to-dry skin.

How long I used it

I’ve been using this for a little bit over a month. It became my primary moisturizer after I ran out of my Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Glow Moisturizer.

What I like about it

The price is right! At $8.00, this cream is a steal, mostly because it smells great and doesn’t break me out. It’s not overwhelmingly rosy and doesn’t linger. it makes my skin feel soft and is enough moisture for my skin in the morning. At night, I like to use a sleeping mask after this, though.

What could be better

I do like the packaging – a twist off jar – but I would have like a spatula, although I’m sure that would have increased the price.
