Currently Loving: Parachute Amla Hair Cream

My sister told me about Amla cream ($7.99) ages ago and I thanked her and was so excited about the way it left my hair feeling. I somehow lost my way, but recently found my way back to it after a hair epiphany.

Before I relaxed my hair last week, I realized how tangled and matted it was and was really dreading the perm burns and how long it would take, and also if the relaxer would fully take at all (which it didn’t; I got more like a texlax). I decided to put some leave-in conditioner in it to make the process a bit easier.

Instead of my go-to Salerm or It’s a 10 leave-in conditioner (review coming soon), I found myself reaching for the Amla cream I recently re-purchased from Amazon.

This stuff is interesting. This is actually an Indian hair product, made in India. It’s technically a coconut based leave-in conditioner, and I feel like it actually softens/changes the texture of my after after using it for about a week. I had a LOT of new growth; my last relaxer was in December. Of course since my hair has been plaited up, I did “lose” a lot of my ends. Anyway, my roots felt exactly like a sponge and as soon as I applied this, it’s like the sponge was wet and I was able to actually detangle.

The amla cream does have a scent… but it’s unlike anything I have smelled, very unique. It’s not overpowering but does stay with you once you put it in your hair. It’s not greasy and doesn’t weigh my hair down. It also claims to make your hair darker (it has henna in it), which I found interesting. You can read all about it here as well as the great benefits of Amla here. I completely recommend this!

I checked Amazon for this today and it was unavailable πŸ™
Perhaps they will restock. You could probably just hop on over to India and get some though πŸ™‚
