Paradise Lost- Curing that Summertime Sadness

I am probably one of the boldest dressers in my office. Dress code is business casual (most days I just go full-on business because I like to dress up) and I spent a small fortune on a new wardrobe once I moved here and found out that there are 4 seasons (sarcasm and shade mixed with a tinge of regret). Although most people don’t wear bright colors once it starts getting cold, I do not follow that rule!

I frequently have those days where the cold affects my mood, and I compensate by dressing in bright colors. For my makeup, I wanted to do something work-appropriate but still nice and summery. I didn’t do a lot here, but it still felt like I was on my way to St. Lucia! To pull this look together, I made my focus Topshop’s Highlighter in Horizon (applied on my cheekbones) and Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bauhau5 (I am not going to get tired of this lipstick any time soon).

The shirt that I am wearing is from the Limited and I bought it in November thinking, this sure is bright for the upcoming season, but I can pull it off. The scarf, I have been wearing quite a bit this month, and is from Banana Republic. The cardigan is ages old and I think it’s from Forever 21 or something like that.

Have a look:

It’s amazing what a change of clothes and some lipstick can do! How do you uplift your spirits when it’s cold and dreary (and you can’t go to South Florida)?
