Shopping for Lippies: Make Up For Ever, Sephora, and Too Faced Melted!

Yesterday I went into Sephora by accident. I was only supposed to be going to get prosecco… but somehow my feet led me across the street and into Sephora. I have had the Sephora Collection Craig & Karl Lip Last lipsticks in my online Sephora shopping cart for about a week and I thought it was curious that they were getting such great reviews based on longevity. The colors also looked bright and interesting so I decided to go take a gander and see what I could see!

Sephora Collection Craig & Karl Lip Last

L to R: West End Swirl, Bold Glory, L Train Jain

As you can see these are super bright! Once I swatched them I thought, man… I’m so glad I decided to come in the store to see what these look like! I put a bit of the color Bold Glory on my lips and when I tried to remove it… it was really not wanting to come off. I had to scrub with makeup remover. So these, I am naturally attracted to. I should make a decision about these soon, as they are limited edition #thestruggle

The Sephora Collection Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Colors also caught my eye, but there weren’t many options to choose from at this particular Sephora. I only swatched one color (below) and it was too bright for me and did not dry down matte (which is apparently what I am into these days). I did see the color Fig online that looks like it might look nice on me, and has gotten great feedback. Next, I made my way over to the Make Up For Ever stand… and then decided I needed a new nude lipstick. So I swatched a few of the colors from their Aqua Rouge line I thought would look good on me. Then, I remembered about the Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipsticks, and I have definitely been wanting to try those.

In the end, it came down to the Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in Rosewood (2) or the Too Faced Melted in Chihuahua

L to R: MUFE Aqua Rouge Light Rosewood (14), MUFE Aqua Rouge Light Rosewood (3),
MUFE Aqua Rouge Nude Beige (1),  MUFE Aqua Rouge Rosewood (2),
Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color Nude Pink

I’m not sure why there are two colors in this line with the same name… I’m guessing one was released before the other and something changed, similar to the infamous Kat Von D Lolita situation.

L: Too Faced Melted Chihuahua, R: Too Faced Melted Nude

I couldn’t decide between the MUFE Aqua Rouge in Rosewood or the Too Faced Melted Chihuahua… so I bought them both! Stay tuned for reviews on each one!
