The Ordinary “B” Oil really surprised me! At first glance (and smell) I didn’t think I would like it, but once I sampled it on my hand and saw how nicely it sank in, I was almost convinced, but still cautious. After a couple months of using it, I am happy to report I like it! A lot! I have used a few facial oils for my oily skin and this one is at the top of the list.
My skin type
Oily and imperfect. I have fading dark acne scars and tiny icepick scars on my cheeks.
What it’s supposed to do
From the brand: βBβ Oil solubilizes a purified form of micro-algae in a blend of squalane and oils of marula, argan, baobab, pataua, brazil nut, inca inchi, rosehip and borage to support healthy skin defense, to enhance radiance, to quench free radicals and to help balance pro-irritant mediators.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Bisabolol, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Isochrysis Galbana Extract, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Borago Officinalis Seed Oil, Rosa Canina Seed Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Oenocarpus Bataua Fruit Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol.
How I use it
This is a standalone product for me as a facial moisturizer, but I also mix other serums with it when I am being lazy, most notably the brand’s antioxidant Pycnogenol.

How long I used it
It’s been about two months
What I like about it
- It sinks nicely into the skin
- It moisturizes without feeling heavy on my oily skin
- Moderately high joy, which is unusual for the brand for me
- I like that it has a mixture of many of the oils they sell as a standalone product: marula, argan, baobab, pataua, brazil nut, inca inchi, rosehip and borage.
What could be better
- It’s got a slightly herbal smell I don’t care for.
