The Bobbi Brown Crushed Lipstick Duos at Nordstrom are back! I picked these up a while back and they went out of stock so I didn’t bother reviewing them… now that they’re back I wanted to tell you all about them. You get two for one at $29 – a steal!
My skin type
My lips are plenty chapped. These are really moisturizing and forgiving to flaky lips so no lip balm necessary underneath these!
What it’s supposed to do
From the brand: A pair of beautiful lipsticks that deliver a just-kissed stain effect in one swipe… It’s loaded with soft matte pigments for high color payoff with a blotted-down stain effect and is rich in vitamins E and C plus beeswax, so it glides on comfortably and leaves lips hydrated and kissably soft. The long-wearing formula won’t feather or fade. It gives lips beautiful color without feeling heavy.
How I use it
These remind me a little bit of the Dior Addict lipsticks. The color isn’t soo pigmented so I layer it on about six or seven times to get the desired shade. I tend to think of lip stains differently, like in a more matte way and these are moisturizing and shiny, so I wouldn’t call them stains. I noticed the description also describes these as blotted-down look, but they aren’t anything like ColourPop’s Blotted Lips which I do love (those are matte and not moisturizing). All that said, I do like the formula!
What I like about it
- The formula: forgiving and moisturizing
- The shades: Ruby and Lilac look great on my skin tone. You can check out swatches of other shades in the range here.
- They are moisturizing and you don’t need lip balm
- The price: one of these alone is $29; with this duo you get two full-sized lipsticks for the same price.
- The packaging: it’s sleek and classy and the cap stays shut in my purse
What could be better
These are winners in my book. I was surprised that Lilac wasn’t more pink on me, but I love the color. Also, that one swipe of color thing is a myth for these lol. My lips are already pigmented so one swipe does nothing for me, even if I wanted to just wear it as a tint.
