Urban Decay Junkie Vice Lipstick Palette | Photos | Swatches | Review

The Urban Decay Junkie Vice Lipstick Palette ($35.00) contains 12 lipsticks in a  pretty large palette with a huge mirror. When I first saw swatches of this on Temptalia, I knew I wanted it, but it didn’t seem practical for travel or for everyday use. I was wrong. I have taken this palette to work with me numerous times in my tiny purse without a problem. And since it doubles as a mirror, it was easy to swap a few items out to make room for this baby. The palette also comes with a lip brush, in which I have conflicted feelings about its performance.

The palette is about the size of my open palm and includes colors:

Disturbed
714
Carnal
Safe Word
Studded
Whip
Wrath
Big Bang
Firebird
Vanity Kills
Speedball
Junkie

So my issue with the lip brush is that it’s hard to use as it makes the colors streaky. I also tried applying the colors with my fingers, but it was obvious after a while that  brush is necessary. If you already have a good lip brush, I’d say don’t bother with this one. I don’t, so I deal with this one until the color is no longer streaky. It was also a challenge for me to push out of it’s tube; having to push it out does no feel so user friendly.

One surprising feature was the longevity of some of the colors. I was unsure about carrying this in my purse to work and when I wore Firebird, I didn’t need to reapply all day! But every color is not made equal and that wasn’t the case with Carnal or Wrath. I had to reapply both after eating. Carnal is a great nude lip for darker skin tones. It doesn’t look like it would be in the palette but I love it. The lipsticks are creamy and neither drying nor moisturizing on their own.

Here are a few photos of me in those three colors:

I am really enjoying the palette and it’s taking me some time to use all of the colors. I am quite curious about Junkie and whether or not I can pull that off! Stay tuned for MOTD looks with these colors!
