Hydropeptide Lumapro-C Skin Brightening Pigment Corrector

My biggest skin concern is acne scarring. I am frequently on the hunt for products that claim to lighten unwanted pigmentation. The Hydropeptide Lumapro-C Skin Brightening Pigment Corrector ($148/1 fl. oz.) definitely fits the bill.

My skin type

Oily

Large pores on my cheeks

Reoccurring hormonal acne

Acne scarring on cheeks and chin

What it’s supposed to do

The brand claims that it brightens and prevents hyperpigmentation “due to sun damage, post-acne, and pregnancy mask.” I would describe the pigment corrector as alotion. It’s pretty light and absorbs quickly. I love the packaging, it’s very sleek and reminds me of the Murad Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence, a Holy Grail of mine! It reminds of of the essence in price, too, because it’s twice the price of the Murad. Is it worth it? It actually works, so I’d say yes. Luckily, I’ve got a 20% off code for those that are interested. Use code BBLUMA20 to receive 20% off your LumaPro-C purchase.

How I use it

The directions tell you to apply all over your face. When I first started using this serum, I was really, really surprised by the scent, which I didn’t detect until I put it all over my face. I didn’t like the smell of this lotion at all, but I couldn’t let that stop me from continuing to test this. After all, I used the Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant and ended up loving the crap out of that (that smells like bird poop, by the way). This smells like oranges and something else. After 2 weeks of using the lotion , the smell didn’t bother me at all; I suppose I just got used to it.

I stopped applying it to my entire face after three days and focused on my problem areas and still saw fantastic results.

How long I used it

I started using this right after I returned from my vacation to England and Paris mid-December of last year (2016).

Results

It’s very important for me to mention that I started using this lotion exactly 7 days after starting to use the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Solution Serum (review coming soon). I have been using these two in conjunction with each other since then. I believe, based on the ingredients, and before and after photos, that this lotion played a huge part in lightening my acne scars. I’ll refer you back to my post on my current skincare routine for those photos. I believe this lotion was responsible for a lot of the progress I saw and continue to see.
