Frutique Papaya Enzyme Exfoliating Gel Review

Happy Friday! I think after a day of overindulgence, something to make yourself feel much better, less guilty, and refreshed would be a good exfoliatin’! Ardell Frutique’s Papaya Enzyme Exfoliating Gel (~$15.00) has been a part of my skincare regimen for a little over a year. The first time I used it, I thought wow, my face feels so smooth!

I find the best way to use this is in the shower. I probably use it twice a week, otherwise I am trading off with my Murad AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (review to come). The instructions say to apply the gel to clean, dry skin. Therefore, it’s the first thing I do when I get in the shower. It still works with damp skin, just not as well. As you are rubbing it into your skin, the gel convinces the dead skin to roll off your face. Sounds weird, but true! The dead skin comes off in flake-like particles. I rub until I feel like I can’t get anymore use out of the gel, then rinse off. Your face is left feeling soft and supple and you actually feel as if you have removed dead skin! Whether or not the flakes are actually dead skin, or just an effect of the gel, I’m not entirely sure. But I love the way my skin feels after use.

Have a look at the ingredients

I found that it was more of a hassle to use this just in the sink, as you’re washing your face. I just felt like all the flakes were more difficult to remove. This great product has led me to be curious about their other skincare products. I did buy it from Amazon but I think they also sell it at Sally’s. I’d love to hear any feedback.
