Nars Satin Lip Pencil Rikugien

Summer breeze | Makes me feel fine | Blowing through the jasmine in my mind…

Gotta love the Isley Brothers!

It’s summer. Like officially summer. Naturally, that means less is more. Sometimes, that’s not always the case with me when it comes to makeup, but I have been wearing the Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien for some time and I thought I’d share my thoughts!

I received the lip pencil in the very first Play! by Sephora box I got (April). That box has been the best box thus far (I am three boxes in).

I was quite excited about the lip pencil, as I have had a good experience with Nars Cruella, the matte version of the lip pencil. The satin version didn’t disappoint in quality, but I do wish the color were more pigmented. Don’t get me wrong — I like the pencil, and I will use it until it’s gone. It’s a great option for when you don’t feel like wearing much makeup but still want a little pop of something on the lips. Because it’s hard to capture the color in sunlight, I have included indoor and outdoor photos to show what it actually looks like.

It is quite pretty! I would also say, make sure your lips are smooth and unchapped before using. While this is somewhat moisturizing, I find that it does accentuate chapped lips. This pencil is great for work, play, kissing your boo, whatever. You will need to reapply after eating and drinking, as it only lasted about 4 hours on me — that is when I decided to eat.

I use this pencil a lot because it’s easy; most times, I won’t even use a mirror to reapply! I recommend this and would be interested in more vibrant colors.
