Look at the kitty stretch and be merry! First off, I love the packaging of the Naruko Peptide Purrty Kitty-Eye Lifting Eye Mask! The name of the mask could be abbreviated some, but on to the review!

The mask makes some pretty interesting claims. It’s supposed to give you tight, smooth skin around the eyes by fortifying the elasticity and firmness of the eye area.

Besides water, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract seems to be the next meaningful ingredient, which is basically processed from some sexy sounding plant. I also found that it isn’t uncommon as an ingredient in cosmetics as a skin conditioner, especially lifting creams from brands such as Kiehl’s and Chantecaille. So as you can imagine, I was very excited to try this mask. Chlorella Vulgaris Extract sounds even sexier and I found this very helpful study on the effect of chlorella vulgaris extract on the skin. After reading that, it made sense that the brand made all of those claims. But did it actually work? The short answer is nothing in skin care works in 15 minutes, but perhaps using these consistently might give me some results. I’m not sure of the concentration of those ingredients (4th and 5th on the list respectively) but it’s nice to have them in there and actually be aware of them; I’d never heard of either until this mask.

As you can see, the mask fits behind the ears to hold it on your face. You may also be able to see that the mask did not fit me that well; like at all. It was so tight and small that my eyes were halfway closed the entire time. It was pretty uncomfortable, squeezing on my eyeballs. After the 20 minutes I had it on, I was more than ready to take it off. My eye bags looked shrunken but the effect faded almost immediately. I’m guessing it was just the pressure of the mask on my face. I did find that the area around my eyes was brighter.  So in a nutshell, the mask wasn’t the best but I am looking forward to finding skin care products with those sexy molecules in them!
