Stellar Cosmic Face Setting Powder, Becca Highlighter in Opal, Milk Makeup Blur Stick, ABH Liquid Lipstick Ashton, and More (Sephora Selfie Kit)

I don’t always indulge in Sephora Favorites Kits but the Selfie Kit seemed so practical to me, I just had to try it out. Plus, I could already speak for the wonderfulness that is the Tarte Double Duty Eyeliner. The problem? This is a kit that sells out almost as soon as Sephora releases it! Hopefully, this review of the individual products included in the kit can help some of you make some decisions about the products themselves. And who knows, maybe Sephora will re-release this. I managed to pick it up the second time they put it back out.

The kit included deluxe-sized samples of:

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

Becca Skin Perfector Highlighter in Opal

Stella Cosmic Face Setting Powder in Golden

Tarte Double Take Eyeliner (full-size!)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in  Ashton

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

Becca Skin Perfector Highlighter in Opal

Stella Cosmic Face Setting Powder in Golden

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Ashton

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Ashton

I had been curious about the shade Ashton in this line for a while. It looked so beautiful on lip swatches I saw of people wearing it, and much, much darker. On me, it looks like a peachy nude and sort of washes out my skin tone. It’s also very drying, similar to its sister shade Kathryn.

Becca Skin Perfector Highlighter Opal

I already knew I would love the Becca Highlighter; I have swatched and tried loads of products this line multiple times and haven’t met a product of theirs that didn’t work for me. I love the consistency of the highlighter; it’s a powder but almost feels like a cream to me. The shade is pretty much universal and will look delicious on all skin tones. You can lightly apply this for a nice, subtle effect, or you can go heavy for all out bling. I’d say to use a light hand because the powder is so pigmented it’s easy to overdo.

Stellar Cosmic Face Setting Powder Powder – Golden

I have tried to come around to this powder but I have come to the conclusion that I just don’t like it. I think it applies patchy and doesn’t settle right on my skin tone. I think it’s too white. Check out my other reviews of banana powders here. So far, my ultimate favorite is the Ben Nye and the Essence Brighten Up! Powder is great, too.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara

This mascara is pretty good. It’s black enough, separates my lashes enough, and provides volume. It didn’t wow me enough to go out and buy the full-sized mascara, but it would certainly go with me on travel.

Milk Makeup Blur Stick

This was my least favorite of the products; I didn’t like how the texture of it played with my other makeup and it didn’t really seem to blur anything. I applied it to my eyebags and also on my cheeks where I have tiny box scars from acne. I ended up thankful I could cover it with concealer and foundation.

Tarte Double Take Eyeliner

You can have a look at my review of this liner (and comparison of others) here. I love this dual ended eyeliner, with a long-lasting liquid liner on one end, and an even longer-lasting pencil liner on the other. So black, bold, and beautiful. This, to me, is what makes this kit worth it, as you get a full-sized liner.

I certainly hope they do a volume two of this kit with all new items, and make enough so they don’t sell out so fast! It’s a no-brainer!
