I often experience those days where all I want is a wash of color over my eyes and a bare face but I often end up with a full face of makeup! I recently purchased a cream shadow that helped me in that department and I am so in love with it! The Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes in Sphinx gives me all kind of feels! I wear it sheered out and also full-on and it’s so beautiful and almost monochromatic. Have a look at some photos before I get into the review.
My skin type
My eyelids are pretty oily but I don’t even need primer with this shadow. Stays put on the lid with a good matte shade in the crease.
How I use it
I use this as a very sheer, barely there wash of color with a fluffy crease brush and also as a full-coverage shadow. I love that it can be subtle enough so that only at certain angles does it appear I am wear eyeshadow. Even at full-coverage this eyeshadow is very-feeling light and very feminine.
How long I used it
This shadow went with me out of town twice so I have been using it for quite some time. It’s so fast and easy to apply making it perfect for travel. The packaging is magnificent; it comes in a glass jar and the texture is like that of Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise cream shadows or the Fiona Stiles Cream Shadows.
What I like about it
I love that it’s low maintenance and at the same time beautiful. On me, I’m not really sure what color it is at times. Sometimes, it just looks like a very light, sheer pink and other times it looks like a rainbow. I also love that it’s a cream shadow. Not only have I never run out of an eyeshadow, but who runs out of cream shadows?! Part of me wants to just keep this in the fridge to preserve it (is that a thing for cream shadows?). It also makes me feel like a princess when I use it. 👸 Again, the packaging makes it great for travel (not to mention counter top display), and the shade is just absolutely beautiful.
What could be better
Besides the price (it’s $46.00), nothing. This shadow exceeded my expectations. And just like the Tom Ford lipstick I bought, I can’t complain about the price because it was a treat to myself and I had been lusting after it for ages.
Joy Factor
On a scale of 1-10, this shadow is at joy max. It’s a 10!
