Wedding Season / High Joy Face Cream / Joining the Nespresso Family

A Wedding in Sanibel

So, it’s wedding season!

I recently attended my very first beach wedding. The wedding was in SW Florida, the weather was perfect, and I was eaten alive by blood-sucking creatures called no-see-ums. But the reason I bring all this up it’s because I had a hard time finding a dress. The dress code was beach formal – and a lot of people didn’t know what that meant. But I know what it meant! After a very long search, I ended up with a beautiful sage green, floral dress from Lulu‘s.

The dress was the perfect length for me – I’m 5’8” and the dress brushed the ground. I wore Tory Burch flats with the dress which turned out to be perfect because we were literally sitting in the sand. The dress has a long slit up the side of the leg, but it’s not too high. The color complemented my skin tone beautifully. It swayed beautifully in the wind as I was walking around, as well as dancing the night away at the reception.

I got so many compliments on this dress! It was pricier than I wanted to pay for a dress to wear to a wedding where I didn’t know anyone, but the dress is so nice and the quality is so good, I’m willing to wear it to many other functions.

Farmacy Honey Halo Moisturizer

The Farmacy Honey Halo moisturizer gave me so much joy, it was gone within the month. Now, that’s a good thing and a bad thing. I have never gone through moisturizer so quickly. Especially a $45 moisturizer. And I’ve also never had a moisturizer make my face feel so soft. I also love the smell; it smells like cream and honey! The packaging is aesthetically pleasing, too, and it comes with a metal spatula I immediately lost. Not only does the cream make my face feel soft immediately after putting it on, when I wake up in the morning it’s still incredibly soft. I highly recommend it, and am happy to see they have made this in a bigger jar!

Doubling Down on Nespresso

I have recently joined the Nespresso family, and not only have I joined the family, but I’ve doubled down on it.

I can’t recall the first time I tasted Nespresso espresso, but I do remember thinking nothing of it. It wasn’t until recently while staying in a hotel, that I became obsessed with getting my hands on a Nespresso machine. Not only did I end up getting my hands on a Nespresso machine, I got my hands on two 🤩.

The Nespresso Essenza Mini by Breville stays at my house, and the larger Nespresso Vertuo Coffee & Espresso Maker is at the Mr’s house. I also bought the Aeroccino 3-milk frother with the Nespresso mini machine. All this does is make milk foam, but it makes me feel really fancy and it brings me joy. I use Silk Soy Creamer with it and it foams just fine.

It’s been really fun tasting all the different kinds of coffees and espressos, and figuring out which one I like the most. While I like enjoying a leisurely morning cup of coffee, sometimes I just need to get it in me. I don’t mind the taste of black coffee, but there’s something very special about the taste of Nespresso. It doesn’t taste like any coffee or espresso I have ever had before – it’s superior to other coffees. I don’t have that much counter space at my place, so I needed something that wasn’t going to take up a lot of room on my counters. The mini fits perfectly and it’s actually the smallest Nespresso machine out there. I was even able to buy a little drawer from Amazon to store all of the espresso pods in. The mini really isn’t good for making a larger cup of coffee, or as Nespresso likes to call it, Lungo (3.7 oz). It makes 0.84 oz of espresso (Ristretto) and 1.37 oz, or Espresso. I have a 2-in-1 coffee/coffee pod machine for “other” coffee.

Meanwhile the Vertuo is great for making cappuccinos, Lungo, and regular cups of coffee. It of course, also makes espresso. The super cool part is that these pods have a barcode on them that tells the machine what size espresso or coffee to make. I do find that I need to empty the bin quite often from this machine because the pods are so big. Also the water seems to run out fairly quickly, but I guess that’s to be expected when you have two people drinking the coffee.

So far, I really like both machines. They both fulfill my obsession and I almost never go out for coffee. The coffee itself is a bit expensive, but it’s still less than paying three dollars for coffee at a coffee shop. I’m looking forward to trying all different kinds of coffee and espresso from the brand.
