You Are the Weakest Link: H&M Bergamot Candles

H&M has some pretty good finds in their home department. Sadly, this ain’t one of ’em.

I recently found myself in the home department of the H&M in Georgetown and I was pleasantly surprised with their offerings. They have all kinds of stuff in there from dainty and feminine to sleek and modern. I found some good props for taking photos and also could not resist picking up two of their Bergamot candles I almost passed by. When I stuck my nose in it, I was hypnotized by the sultry, concentrated, woodsy, and downright adult smells coming out of the glass jar candle. I couldn’t wait to get home and burn the midnight oil.

Oh, I burned them alright. For hours. And you know what happened? Absolutely nothing.

I should have known, since these were only $3.99, that there had to be something ailing them. I decided to take a chance and ended up miserably disappointed. I try not to scowl when my gaze crosses these candles since they are aesthetically pleasing to look at. I like the vibe of them, so you may see them in background photos. But they make really bad candles. I literally smell absolutely nothing when I burn these. How Sway?

Siiiggghhhhh. Maybe I stick to my Voluspa candles, when I want small, cheap candles. They are twice the price, but they pack a fragrant punch!
