Will fall in full motion, now is the perfect time to have another look at the Bite Beauty Spice Things Up Collection. I was enthralled with the collection when it first came out and went to Sephora to see what I can see. I ordered Crushed Chili right away, which I’ve already reviewed and went back sporadically to check out the beige/nude-looking shades. Below, you’ll find swatches of a few of the shades that interested me, and then I’ll be showing off Toasted Cardamom (toasty rose) and Star Anise, described as a muted lavendar.

I have reviewed the formula of these lipsticks a couple of times and these shades are no exception to the love I have for them. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I picked up Star Anise because I am not a fan of the shade against my skin tone, however the more I look at it the more I like it.. It reminds me of that Kat Von D lavendar lipstick, Ayesha which is way brighter. I much prefer Kat’s version as far as shade. I think the lip swatch on the promo model looks great, but I think it probably doesn’t suit my dark skin.
Toasted Cardamom, on the other hand, is suitable. Not perfect, but suitable. It’s sometimes hard to remember that if I want to look for or buy a nude lipstick, it’s not going to be beige. We have been told for so long that beige lips = nude lips but… my lips are not beige! LOL. Nevertheless, I do like Toasted Cardamom on me as a lip color.
