Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask Review

Behold this really weird product! It’s by no means new and most people into K-beauty have already tried it. I would say the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask ($10.00) would be part of a K-beauty starter pack. Oddly enough, this product has a learning curve.

Ingredients:

Purified Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, White Clay, Acrylate Copolymer, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Methyl Perfluorobutyl Ether, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Lauramide DEA, TEA-Cocoyl Glutamate, Green Tea Extracts, Glycerine, Dipropylene Glycol, Bentonite, Collagen, Charcoal Powder, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Flavouring Agents, Carbonated Water, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Lavender Extracts, Monarda Didyma Leaf Extracts, Peppermint Leaf Extracts, Freesia Leaf Extracts, Chamomile Flower Extracts, Rosemary Leaf Extracts

The mask comes in a nice, sturdy jar with a plastic cap to hold in all its business and a pretty large spatula, as far as skincare spatulas go. Spatulas usually annoy me, but this one became my best friend because applying this with your fingers is just something one should not do. So much mess. So use the spatula!

After exposing the mask to air, you can hear the faint sounds of carbonation. That lit a fire under my bum to get this thing spread on my face. The mask spreads very evenly over the face with the spatula, and applying it is my favorite part of the entire process.

The bubbling starts happening shortly after that. In fact, I wasn’t even done applying the mask before the bubbles appeared.

Disregard dissheveled hair. It’s possible I did not comb it…

After about 2 minutes of this the bubbles become overwhelming and start traveling places; up my nose, down my chin… it’s not long before you want to get this off your face, no matter how cool it seems.

Another reason you’d want to get it off your face in a timely manner is because if you leave it on too long, it will leave your face super dry and not in the good way (for those who have oily skin), but in the chalky, gross way. The first time I used this mask, I left it on for 10 minutes. Now, the instructions clearly tell you to leave it on for 5 minutes, but since I overdo everything, I thought I would leave it on longer. Bad idea. When I washed it off, I did not like the way my face felt, especially since all the reviews said it left their face soft and smooth.

Several months went by before I picked up this mask again. This time, I followed the directions and voila! Skin soft and smooth! There aren’t many products out there that do anything to shrink my pores, so it wasn’t a surprise to find that this did not.

I like the mask and I’m glad I gave it a second try! I purchased it from Amazon.
