I did not love the My Ipkn Gelstealer Pen Liner the first time I tried it. I actually didn’t love it the second time I tried it either. This liner behaved like uncomfortable leather shoes you need to “break in” before you truly start loving them. The liner was skittish; I would need to go over the same line before it would become a solid; almost like it was dried out. Pretty much the worst thing that could happen with a pen liner. After attempting to use the liner a few times, it started behaving normally.
Disclaimer: I’m not sure why I opted for super dark wolverine brows in these photos, but try to focus on the eyeliner!
The liner didn’t make it into the trash bin because it started behaving after I shook the sh*t out of it. The brand claims that it’s waterproof, tear-proof, and smudge proof; I can attest to the waterproof and smudge-proof claims. Tears I don’t know about because gangsters don’t cry 🙂
In all seriousness, I didn’t have high expectations for the liner because it was from a brand I hadn’t heard of and I got it in a flash sale from Hautelook. They were having a k-beauty day and I made an impromptu order. I’m sure it has been several years since I last place an order from a flash sale site. Anyway, I really do like the liner and I reach for it often. I don’t think this is actually a gel liner which I thought it might imply from the name; I can’t tell that there is a difference in texture between this pen liner and say, Clio Kill Black Pen Liner. Both are liquid liners.
The liner dries down pretty quickly. It’s super black, but I still go over it once more for good measure. I almost always use this liner when I have limited time and is dark enough to wear without mascara (which I do a lot) — and I have flimsy litto lashes! It lasts on me all day until I remove it. I did fall asleep in it once and half of it was gone by morning.
The pen liner is available on Amazon for $11.99. My IPKN has a website also, but it’s $15 on there and I’m not sure what your experience would be like purchasing direct. I would stick to Amazon.
