Peter Thomas Roth has released a line of cannabis sativa seed oil based products guaranteed to soothe irritated skin and keep you moisturized. I was able to try the Green Releaf Therapeutic Sleep Cream Skin Protectant courtesy of the brand and Brandbacker and am now ready to share my thoughts on it.
My skin type
Oily and imperfect. I have fading dark acne scars and tiny icepick scars on my cheeks.
What it’s supposed to do
From the brand: Green Releaf Therapeutic Sleep Cream combines hemp-derived Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil and powerful green botanicals in a calming, smoothing moisturizer.
2% Retinoid Complex gently smooths the look of fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and
texture. Topical Melatonin follows a day-to-night circadian rhythm to help revitalize skin’s
appearance while you sleep. Plant extracts of Taladvance™, Phytessence™ Margosa and
Phytessence™ Plantago help calm the look of inflammation, working synergistically with
Allantoin, Ceramide NP and non-comedogenic Vitamin E-rich butters and oils to leave skin
looking healthy and moisturized. 5% Colloidal Oatmeal temporarily protects and helps relieve
minor skin irritation and itching due to rashes, eczema and other skin conditions. For all skin
types including sensitive and compromised skin.

How I use it
At night, as the second to last step in the routine. It’s a pretty light moisturizer so I use a sleeping mask afterward, also to mask the smell of the cream; it’s got a very herbal smell to it that lingers. For the most part it does everything it says it’s going to do!
How long I used it
I’ve been using this cream since mid-to-late February.
What I like about it
- It makes my skin very smooth.
- It’s great for eczema; I have random breakouts on my neck and this cream really soothes the itch an rash and it does so pretty quickly.
- It’s great for healing skin; I used it a few days after a 35% TCA peel and it helped considerably with the turnover of skin and irritation I caused by rubbing.
- It really surprised me! I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I do.
What could be better
- It’s got a strong herbal smell I’m not fond of; the benefits outweigh this one deterrent, but it’s definitely noticeable.
- I don’t feel the effects of the melatonin.
