On my third try, I was able to get everything I wanted in the Soko to Tokyo 5-Peice Skincare Set at Sephora ($25.00). I chose:
- Amore Pacific Moisture Bound Skin Energy Hydration Delivery System (Mist) (1 oz)
- Boscia Exfoliating Peeling Gel (1.7 oz)
- Erborian Ginseng Milk (1 oz)
- Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil (1.3 oz)
- Skin Inc Pure Deepsea Hydrating Mask (0.68 oz)
For the size of the samples you get, $25 is the ultimate steal!
It came as a surprise to me that I enjoyed the Amore Pacific Mist more than any other product in the selection, even though it technically wasn’t the best performing. It was surprising because it’s got a pretty strong scent, which I usually don’t prefer in skincare, but this is… quite comforting. It smells like a lover that has just left you, but left behind some remnant of themselves, like their shirt or a scarf, and you can’t help but smell it because you know it smells of them; and when you do, it makes you smile and reminds you of good things. The scent lingers, so if your next destination is your bed, you might be pleased with this mist. In addition, the mist has moisturizing properties, and I find myself using it mostly at night. I have used it in the morning, but it’s the only thing I use after cleansing. This will be a full-sized purchase for me for those reasons.
I think the best-performing product is going to have to be the Skin Inc Hydrating Mask for me. I tried a sample of this previously and loved the way it made my skin feel. Although I have oily skin, I don’t mind moisturizing more than normal at night. This mask is the last step in my regimen. I just wish the full-sized version wasn’t $75.00.
The Shiseido Cleansing Oil would be second in this regard, and was almost first, but I noticed traces of eyeliner still left behind on my lower lids the last time I used it. It certainly takes off every other trace of makeup. I find that I need to use some other cleanser after this, as it doesn’t leave my face feeling squeaky clean.
I like the Erborian Ginseng Milk Lotion so far, but I am watching it closely. As someone with oily skin, I think using this during the day would make me feel uncomfortable. I have just run out of my Sunday Riley Good Genes sample, which I have decided I like, and have been using this in the place of that only at night. It’s too early to tell if my skin likes it, but I will review this when it’s time.
I haven’t had a chance to use the Boscia Peeling Gel just yet, but I have high hopes for it, as I have had my eye on it for quite some time. At 1.7 oz, it’s the largest product of the bunch.
Keep an eye out for Sephora’s Soko to Tokyo deal!
